Here is something i found interesting a bootable flash drive to run games from the drive with no need to install on your computer.

    Batocera.linux

Batocera.linux is an open-source and completely free retro-gaming distribution that can be copied to a USB stick or an SD card with the aim of turning any computer/nano computer into a gaming console during a game or permanently. Batocera.linux does not require any modification on your computer. Note that you must own the games you play in order to comply with the law.

This is based on Emulation Station, it is a LOT like RetroPie for the Raspberry Pie but for x86, I've used it and it works with wireless bluetooth controllers etc really easily and well. Configuring is no different to using RetroBat in Windows, but as it's a whole OS based on it, it's very lightweight. I chose RetroBat over this as I already have windows on all my hardware, so don't need to using Linux and if I want ultra portable I use the Pi 4b
