Interesting read. These people are among the first to maintain conservation areas, something normally associated by us with modern efforts starting with Muir or something. Turns out conservancy was practiced for thousands of years. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/...ous-protectors-sacred-peaks-secret-until-now/
It's interesting to note that the people who are, purportedly, stuck in obsolete traditions and worldviews and are subject to superstition, have the net result of a non-destructive impact on the land (sustainable -- proven for thousands of years) and are, in fact, admirable people. Then consider the modern worldview which is so-called "rational", "fact-based," "scientific," and "non-superstitious," and see how in its wake lies an all-out attack and destruction of the global ecosystem (and a loss all wisdom and traditional knowledge).
