So I'm in search of some good memory for my labtop I currently have 16gigs DDR4 2400 1200mhz 260 pin I have 4 slots I'm going to be taking my labtop on the road with me so I can do a little gaming , since it is a gaming laptop lol
If you want to add to what is already there, do a search for the Samsung memory and the model of the memory in the screen shot, if you want to replace all with the best then try to stay within the specs range of the laptop, meaning do not get to fast memory as it will default to a lower speed etc.., it gets a little tricky but I would add to what is there to cut the cost over buying all 4 modules. Also the max memory size it will hold is important also, 32GB, 64GB, etc.. . Same spec in screen shot https://www.newegg.com/samsung-16gb-260-pin-ddr4-so-dimm/p/0RM-002H-00073
What is the specs of the laptop, model number etc., I will find several ways to go about it EDIT - Get a screenshot of the Mainboard and CPU in CPU-z that will tell all
Seems that 32GB is the limit, 2 x 8GB modules for a total of 16GB in dual channel would perk it up since it only has 1 module now, and a match set of 16GB at 2400 speed is max. Also read where the laptop is REAL finicky with higher speed memory modules, may not boot at all except into BIOS, so to be safe choose the 2400 speed modules. check here and find what pleases your wallet Also read reviews as much as possible as for the level of eggs there is a good thing , the Gskill stands out to me in that list at 99.99 here - https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-260-pin-ddr4-so-dimm/p/N82E16820232156 There is a review of the same type of model laptop GL702VS, you have the GL702VSK list https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=100007609 8000 4131 601190333 601275424 601204086&Order=1
Whoa, that BitDefender usage is insane... I have not used an AV or anything in 15 years and never had a virus, you just need to know what you're doing and use VirusTotal to analyze file hashes before running any patched files. Which is a way better approach because you'll have 70 opinions plus your OS won't be the guinea pig. If you do want to scan a system, better to do it from a PE anyway, much more reliable. Plus use a good hosts file, that'll filter a lot of the junk sites without them being able to touch your OS at all.
I don't think I've had this labtop on in 4 years I've hardly ever used it .it's the same as it was when I got it I'm only home on the weekends so I've been thinking about taking it with me on the road .just to play games and browse the web .just basic stuff
So if I'm reading this right, I can only hold 2 sticks 16gb each to equal 32gb .I was thinking I had 4 slots from what the cpuz was showing .guess I'll need to take the back off and see .untill next weekend. Thanks for your help
Yes ,do take the back off and inspect to find how many slots for RAM, I have never seen a laptop have more than 2 slots myself, but hey it is a new era so who knows. But yes the max GB is 32GB from my findings, until next week be safe C!
I finally had time to remove the back and I can only put 2 sticks in .that's what I was thinking all along but it is a new era lol
This is the best deal here - 99.99 for 2 x 16GB 2400 = 32 GB total - https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-260-pin-ddr4-so-dimm/p/N82E16820232156
